QuickBooks Online DOES NOT accept their own IIF file generated in SwimOffice for QuickBooks. Per an Intuit employee, "Currently there is no iif import to QuickBooks Online."

You have two options If you start using QuickBooks Online.

  • Manually enter transactions from SwimOffice. The CoA Summary report is helpful for this.
  • Use a third party tool like this article talks about: Import IIF files into QuickBooks Online.
TeamUnify has not tested it, does not endorse it, and does NOT offer any tech support for this, so use at your own risk.

Otherwise you will need to stick with the desktop version of QuickBooks in order to continue importing IIF files.
